When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text). If you purchase a plan, we also collect a US billing name, address, city, state, and ZIP code for your invoice records.
2. How we use it
- To provide access to your account and practice history.
- To send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, email verification).
- To process payments through PayPal and/or Paddle.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Who we share it with
We share payment details with PayPal and/or Paddle solely to process your purchase. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TCOLEtest.net, our users, or others.
4. Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in (a session cookie). We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to help us understand site traffic and usage patterns. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and practice history for as long as your account is active so you can review your progress over time. If you want your account and associated data deleted, contact us and we will remove it, except where we need to keep limited payment records to comply with tax and accounting obligations.
6. Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored or displayed in plain text. Sessions are protected with signed, httpOnly cookies. Payment card details are never handled or stored by us directly — they go straight to PayPal/Paddle.
7. Your rights
You may request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account at any time by contacting us through the Contact page.
8. Children’s privacy
TCOLEtest.net is intended for adults preparing for law enforcement certification exams and is not directed at children under 13.
